Founded in 2023, Recognition Hawick has been set up with the overall desire to develop citizenship and pride in the community of Hawick.

Hawick has plenty to shout about, therefore this groups aim is to promote and publicise the success of the people in the town of Hawick, ranging from everyday local successes to international achievements.

Co-Founders Braden George (L) and Euan Welsh (R), both 20, are not new to being part of groups in Hawick. Both are Community Councillors and members of Hawick Common Riding Committee, whilst Braden is part of the Hornshole Greenway Project and Ancient Order of Mosstoopers Committee, and Euan is on the Hawick Reivers Festival committee and also contributes to Hawick Tourism Collective.

They have brought on board 4 others to help bring their plans to fruition, 3 of whom are under 26 years of age. Between the 6 enthusiastic individuals, the plan is to host annual awards evenings which will see the most achieving and inspiring Hawick folk recognised for their achievements.
